Meals That MatterSign up for Fall Meals that Matter Groups is closed, but please sign up in January for the Winter Meals that Matter Groups. Or if you are looking for another small group to join, go to Small Groups ListIf you have farther questions about groups please contact Karla Crabb at karla@pathwayschurch.org What are Meals that Matter Groups?Meals that Matter groups offer a low commitment way to get connected with other Pathway's people who live in/near your neighborhood. These are groups of 10-12 people that meet for six-eight consecutive weeks depending on the season. These groups meet together weekly in someone's home, share a potluck meal, share life stories and experiences, and get to know each other. The meals are lead by a host or co-host that facilitates the conversation and organizes the meals. What does a host do?The host is a critical piece to making the Meals that Matter group happen! It requires very little of the host. Pathways provides guidance and materials at a host orientation to help! 1. The host is the primary contact for the group 2. Attend a host orientation class 3. The host organizes the first meal and determines where, when, and who brings what. 4. Facilitate conversation 5. Organized the service project It's up to the host if they want to rotate homes, share facilitating among the group, share the responsibility for the service project, or lead everything themselves. Many groups share these responsibilites and have an opportunity to grow and connect through their service. What does a participant do? 1. Attend regularly 2. Contribute to the potluck meal 3. Help clean-up after each meal 4. Participate in conversation and be open to meeting new people What do they talk about in these groups? Each group is unique but hopefully over the six to eight weeks each group will have listened to one another's stories and better understand each others' spiritual journeys. The Meals that Matter Host Guide offers great conversation starters around faith and what Pathways church in particular values. Who is in each group?Groups are formed around neighborhoods and are composed of 10-12 people who live in/near these neighborhoods. When and how often do these groups meet?Groups are offered three times per year (Fall, Winter, and Summer). These groups meet weekly for six or eight consecutive weeks. *Keep your eyes open for more info on the webpage and at church services for specific dates!!!! What happens when the groups end? Some groups continue to meet regularly and some irregularly. Some people join other small gorups or become a Meals that Matter host.
