Why am I here? What am I meant to do? These are all questions we have had at one time or another. God had big plans for ancient Israel too. Through the prophet Jeremiah God said, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)” At the time, they were facing a mass deportation, but God assured them that better times laid ahead. Seventy years later, God restored the nation of Israel and several hundred years after that, He used Israel to bring us Jesus, our Savior.
