GIVE

WHAT DOES PATHWAYS BELIEVE ABOUT MONEY?

How does Pathways manage money? We give generously, we save responsibly, and we steward wisely. We have the privilege of partnering with God by using our gifts and resources through the local church. Thank you so much for prioritizing Pathways Church in your generous giving. Your consistency provides stability, strength, and support to Pathways Church's ministry. Lives are being changed because of you!

First Step: Start Giving

An initial giver is someone who decides to give for the first time, out of a response to a need. Or maybe the mission of the organization is compelling. Or they simply feel like that’s the “right thing” to do. There are lots of different reasons why someone may give a gift initially.

Second Step: Be Steady

A steady giver is someone who decides to give something on a consistent basis to set a discipline of giving. At this point, their hearts are open to how God wants them to become more like Jesus, but they have taken personal responsibility for their spiritual growth. Often, someone who sets a budget and decides to make a gift or an online recurring gift is learning the behavior of consistency.

Third Step: Surrender

A surrendered giver is someone who thinks about their giving in relationship to other financial priorities and stewards their money according to God’s Word. They recognize the power of the gospel and are surrendered to honoring God with 100% of their resources. They see God as the owner.  They take seriously the idea of being a money manager. Therefore, they honor God with the practice of the tithe (10%) to God through their local church. They save for their future, and they live within their means on the rest of what God has provided. As surrendered givers, they find the blessing of obedience with financial peace and freedom.

Fourth Step: Become Sacrificial

A sacrificial giver isn’t just concerned about what they ARE giving, they are concerned about what they are NOT giving, and why. They are so consumed with honoring God that they are driven by looking for ways to make an eternal impact.  That’s why a sacrificial giver thinks about generosity in terms of eternity and not month-to-month or year-to-year. They think of what home they buy, what car they drive, and how much savings they choose to keep, all in relation to their generosity capacity. They have experienced the benefits of generosity to such a degree that they have put their full devotion in God and not the things of this earth..
